This is a ruined dome (Stupa) located at Ajgarha, Maharajganj, India . The elevation of the dome is around 20 feet high from the adjacent land and approximately 100 feet in diameter.
People living in nearby village has no authentic knowledge about the history and nature of the site. They simply called it “BHIDDA” (meaning = an elevated structure). There are various stories regarding the site. Some say, once upon a time fairies used to come there. Some claim this site to be a castle of unknown ancient ruler.
The shape of architecture is quit similar to the temple of Buddhists. I claim about the Buddhist nature of site, because the similarities in the architecture of dome and this place is nearby to the another famous Buddhist site of International fame and recognition. The bricks are also similar to the bricks found the other Buddhist Dome in India.
Exact nature of can be found out only after the excavation. The site have potential to be protected and developed as a tourist point in near future.
