This post is a response to the latest 'Challenge for attendees of the “Lists for Google Maps” Meetup ’ by @KarenVChin and @Kwiksatik . You can check the details of the challenge here. #challengeaccepted
Although I have created many lists , my favorite one is ‘Unique Gelato spots in London’ . I created this one recently during this summer. I believe that summers are incomplete without having a chill treat ! But currently due to COVID, many of us are not sure or we don’t know which local ice-cream vendors have re-opened or are available for click-n-collect or offer home delivery*. Many of our local businesses have suffered too and ‘creating Lists on Maps’ is one of the multiple ways we can help them !*
Having ice-creams in these shops in London is an experience of its own kind ! But now as we are in lockdown, here is a list of these famous shops in London which also have started takeaway or home deliveries so that you don’t miss having your favourite ice-creams !
The list comprises of London’s best and most amazing gelato spots which are unique in their own way! Do try them ,if you are in London, as they are now open for business and have takeaway and are even delivering this Summer to your homes too! Check out which ones deliver to your postal codes and the flavours they offer at their websites shared in the list !Enjoy a chill treat when in London from these shops and help a local business grow !
You can follow the list here and my Maps profile here.
Currently I have listed out 11 shops on Maps but I will add more later (as and when I try and find new unique gelato centers in London). In case you are in London and have been to any of these shops or if you know any other shops which also have amazing gelato collection and are open for business now , do mention in the comments below so that we can add it in the list !
@Globe_trotter_Ish you are after my heart with a list of gelato shops! It is super hot in Seattle lately and gelato would be the perfect reprieve from the heat. You really found some amazing places! Liquid nitrogen ice cream? I wish I had this list last year around this time - I was walking through Covent Garden and would have loved to stop for the perfect bite if I had known how close it was! Thank you so much for sharing!
Oh , great to know you were in Covent Garden area last year. It’s one of my favourite locations in London as it truely has both an traditional British as well as a global touch to it. I am glad you liked the list @Kwiksatik ! Make sure to follow the list too so that the next time when you come to London, you can plan your trip accordingly !
Here in San Francisco, we have nitrogen-based ice cream shop here called Smitten’s
The owner has a patent on how she makes hers. They only sell up to 5 flavors a day. The flavors are intense. It is like, for example, eating “Vietnamese ice coffee” in ice cream form if that makes any sense to you.
Here is a Forbes’ article regarding Smitten’s Ice Cream:
In London, is there an Asian-flavored ice cream shop? Lychee, Passion Fruit, Durian, Ube, etc? Curious to know. Here in San Francisco, there is an Asian owned ice cream factory that has been making those sub-tropical fruit flavors for decades before they become trendy: https://www.magnoliaicecream.com/
Wow… great to know about amazing ice cream shops in San Fancisco @KarenVChin ! I will definitely visit these when I come there! There are lots of Asian-based ice cream shops too here but I would add them to the list once I try them( Already on my “To Do”… haha ! )
I just wanted to let you know that I will relabel your post to Food & Drink, as I believe this is the main topic of the publication. More information on Connect’s label is available here.
Sure @Bobiisha . This post is the #challengeaccepted for the meet-up “Lets talk about Google Maps list” challenge by Karen and Megan. As its mainly for the Ice-cream lovers re-labelling to Food & Drink is a great idea! Thanks
