During my daily cycling trip to one of our nearby picturesque railway stations, Muthalamada (Palakkad District, Kerala, India) , I took a small pedestrian path and stumbled upon something unexpected – a dropping that seemed unusual. Curious, I took some pictures and later consulted a wildlife expert friend. To my surprise, he confirmed that it very much resembles leopard droppings!
What’s concerning is that this was found in an area close to houses and domestic animals. The presence of a leopard so close to human settlements raises concerns for both wildlife conservation and human safety.
Muthalamada, known for its lush greenery and proximity to the Western Ghats, is home to diverse wildlife. However, shrinking forests and habitat loss often push these majestic creatures closer to human habitations.
Have you ever encountered such signs of wildlife near residential areas? Let’s stay aware, ensure safety, and promote peaceful coexistence between humans and nature.
