Undas: A Local All Soul's Day Tradition (Philippines)

Undas: The Annual Tradition That Is Never Taken For Granted

Location is our hometown in the Philippines. Everyone in the family is busy cleaning the ‘puntod’ ( grave stone and area ), busy serving soup food to the family and kids. Grandma is pulling her belo (veil) while readying her prayer booklet and keeping all the dozen grand daughter on her side. Papa is making ready his self remembering his siblings who departed through pictures. Mom is here and there so busy body.

The usual activities in the Philippines are these. Kids are also getting wet moulded candles for keeps later (to make wax in the school). Lately as to avoid mishaps, liqueur is banned within the days of 31st October to 2nd November but there were days then, 1990s that the event seemed to be party of all living and not the dead  .

So yeah, go and participate on this event and stay tuned for more pictures later especially on eve which is tomorrow, 1st of November.
