I love both sides of contributing to Google Maps - helping small businesses get discovered, and assisting Google users discover new destinations. Many of the great restaurants and cafes I’ve visited lacked great photos and reviews that help drive people to their business, which is where contributions from Google Local Guides can have such an amazing impact.
A particular passion of mine is uncovering vegan-friendly restaurants and cafes. It wasn’t very long ago that it was quite difficult for vegans to find somewhere that catered to their diets. These days we’re very lucky that there are so many options available, helping discover, taste, and bring these options to life presents a delicious opportunity to contribute to Google Maps. Veganism is something I’m personally passionate about, and I truly get a sense of joy by helping others find vegan-friendly destinations.
Ad for this, I cannot think of better platform that has such an immediate and absolute impact for both businesses, and Google Maps users alike. In fact, on at least half a dozen occasions, I’ve had small business owners personally thank me for sharing reviews and images of their businesses on Google, it’s great to know that they see such value in from the activity of Google Local Guides.
