Uncovering Hidden Gems Across France | Hello Local Guides Community! 👋

Hello everyone! :france::sparkles:

I’m super excited to officially introduce myself to this amazing community!

I’m passionate about traveling across France from charming countryside villages and breathtaking spots to vibrant city neighborhoods to uncover authentic local experiences and hidden gems that usually stay off the tourist radar.

My main goal as a Local Guide is simple: to share honest reviews, detailed photos, and practical insights on Google Maps so travelers from all over the world can explore France like a true local.

I’m really looking forward to connecting with fellow guides, exchanging travel recommendations, and sharing my journey with you all.

What’s your favorite place or hidden gem in France? Let me know in the comments below! :backhand_index_pointing_down:

Welcome to connect @Gothampirate

My favorite things as a local guide are exploring my neighborhood, and travelling with motorcycle like you.

Love it, welcome to Connect! Have you been to the top of Effiel Tower?

I’ve never had the chance to climb to the roof of the Eifel Tower, but it’s a definite goal

Hello and a very warm welcome to local guides connect @Gothampirate

Here are a few tips to help you get off to a great start:

Read posts by Googlers: Take some time to explore posts shared by Googlers on Connect. They offer valuable insights into the platform, community guidelines, and the many ways you can make meaningful contributions.

Post in the right category: Whether your post is about travel, food, photography, or your Google Maps contributions, choosing the appropriate category helps more Local Guides discover your content and engage with your experiences.

introduce yourself july-2026: Be sure to visit the Introduce Yourself section and tell the community a little about yourself—where you’re from, your hobbies, why you joined the Local Guides program, and what inspires you to contribute.

As for me, just like you, I’m also a passionate biker. Before owning my Royal Enfield Bullet, I used to ride a Hero Hunk. It was a good motorcycle, but I always felt I needed something more for the kind of journeys I wanted to make.

When I decided to document the western part of Uttar Pradesh, India, on Google Maps, I knew I would be spending countless hours on the road, exploring both well-known and hidden places. I also enjoy speed—I’m sure, as a fellow biker, you know exactly what I mean. That’s when I decided to buy a Royal Enfield Bullet.

Since then, my Bullet has been much more than just a motorcycle—it’s been my trusted companion in exploration. I’ve documented most of Western Uttar Pradesh, explored countless hidden places, uncovered many lesser-known locations, and helped bring several places to Google Maps that truly deserved to be discovered by people around the world. Even today, I prefer exploring nearby areas on my motorcycle, and covering 200–250 km:clockwise_vertical_arrows: in a day is something I genuinely enjoy. For me, every ride is an opportunity to discover something new, document it, and help others explore the world through Google Maps.

I hope you enjoy your journey in this amazing community! If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

One more tip: whenever you want to tag someone or ask them a question, simply type @ before the username so they’ll receive a notification.

Happy contributing, ride safe, and have an amazing time on Connect! :motorcycle:

Hi @shaileno

Thank you so much for the warm welcome and all these fantastic tips. It’s awesome to connect with a fellow rider who truly gets what life on two wheels is all about!

Just like you, motorcycles have always been my ultimate passport to adventure. I started out riding a Kawasaki Z800, then switched to a Yamaha Tracer 900, and today I’m a proud rider of a BMW GS 1250, which is an absolute machine for long-distance travel and exploration.

I’m still just discovering this amazing travel community, so I might make a few little mistakes at first, but I’ll do my absolute best to respect the guidelines and stick to the right topics. My goal is to share all the incredible places I visit like my recent road trip out in Vendée, exploring the stunning coast around Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie. I’m a huge fan of coastlines and mountains, always hunting for those hidden, unusual, and quiet spots where raw nature is at its best.

Thanks again for stopping by and sharing your story. Ride safe out there, and see you around the community! :motorcycle::sparkles:
