Uncover Missing Info

Hi Local Guides

Anybody know why the ‘uncover missing info’ function is not available on the maps website? I’ve looked for it and could not see it.

This should be made accessible on the web version as it’s easier to research places and then add the necessary. Also, when switching back from the browser to the app on my mobile, there is a delay in the app with loading the field where the text must be inserted and the question(s).

The discover missing info feature has not been there on a desktop. Only check the facts exists.

However, that’s the way it has been over the years.

If you wish to have that on the lines of the phone app, then you need to put that as a suggestion in the idea exchange.

Below the ‘check the facts’ heading on the desktop you will see it states ‘verify info that people suggested about places nearby’ and the only results is places needing verification of suggested edits, no edits are asked for. When I check the app to uncover missing info and search the same area on desktop maps under ‘check the facts’ different places come up and edits are asked for.

That’s a great observation! In addition to posting your comments here, I encourage you to provide feedback directly through Google Maps as well.

On desktop, you can click on the menu (3 horizontal bars in top left) > Scroll to near the bottom for Send Feedback > Your opinions about Maps. Your feedback here goes directly to the engineering teams at Google Maps!
