Unable to see reviews, unable to post reviews.
Platinum product expert mentioned that my profile is restricted to public view, and suggested to update profile visibility by disabling profile privacy in settings.
Hi @Gkirinikiki, welcome to the Local Guides Connect community! It’s great to have you here.
If you’re unable to see your reviews or post new ones, and the “profile privacy” setting isn’t visible in your account, here are a few steps you can try:
Use a Browser Instead of the App: Sometimes, profile settings are better accessed via a desktop or mobile browser rather than the Google Maps app.
Your profile picture is missing and we can not see any contributions. This it typical for very young profile. The restricted profile setting is not relevant to this issue.
It can also be a bug. Let me know when you created this account.
Thank you for contacting Google support. Based on the information provided, we are happy to confirm that there are no penalties against your account. Please log in on Connect in order to get full access to the forum and all the benefits of our community.
Maybe. But having only 25 points us in my eyes a “young” profile
You should make more quality contributions and the issues might be solved automatically. The spam filter is more alert when it comes to accounts with very few contribution.
Please share a screenshot of your detailed contribution stats like seen here
I understand your point, but if i can’t post any reviews it’s going to be hard to up the level.
Also, does it mean that a “young” profile can’t see reviews of places?
All profiles can see everything. Also your own hidden reviews that others can not see.
Did you have another profile before this one. It is very unusual to see profiles with only 5 edits show up here on Connect. If you had another profile that got suspended, this could spill over to a second account as Google knows how to link accounts created by the same person.
You need to share the 3 Maps links to the places where you can’t add reviews. Some places do not accept reviews. But I would like to test if the problem is isolated to your account.
Conclusions:
The problem is not associated with the places.
The problem is not associated with your text “Awesome” as mine got published. (1-word reviews are not good though).
I believe the issue is with your account, contribution history and trust level.
The message about no penalties is also sent to LGs with many or most of their reviews or photos taken down. So these are separate systems.
The trust score is a system Google users to guide what contributions should be approved or not. The only tip would be to consistently make quality contributions of a few types until you achieve a high approval rate.
Checking the guidelines is also an action you can take.
I don’t know how else to help you. I hope @DeniGu will check this thread and share her recommendations.
