Unable to Click KUDOS? Help Please

Hi dear @StephenAbraham ,

I am facing a Problem = ‘Not able to Give KUDOS’ in “Replies”…!!!

I have tried through 3 different browsers (Chrome, Firefox & IE), all failed (for the last few hours).!

Note:

I am able to give Kudos on Home Page and Main Topics page; but, not on REPLY PAGES - kindly suggest a solution, please - If you need any further intputs, kinldy reach me, please.

Hi @TravellerG

we had some similar experience in the past, all related to Low connection. The heart become blue, but the “like number” do not increase, and if you click in some other place of the screem, the heard become white again. Is this what happens to you?

This is normally related to low connection. Are you on mobile or on desktop?

I am on Landline [broadband] (3 Mbps download, around 1 Mbps upload connection), of course in a remote place.

I am able to give KUDOS on Connect Home Page and opened Main page…??? !!! ie. this situation is only on REPLY PAGES.

But, YES, the KUDOS Button fuctions, as rightly stated by you.

Can I provide any more data?

Could you confirm if this happens with all reply posts or is it relevant just to several specific threads or replies? Please provide links and screenshots as examples. That would be very helpful.

Also, please confirm you have tested if the issue still exists when you try giving a kudo to a reply from different devices from the one you are currently using. Another thing you could try is to test if the same happens when you try using another internet connection.

Thank you very much for prompt response. Yesterday I faced this issue first time when I was on a post. I don’t remember that post because in a day I visit so many posts.

I think in this case a screenshot may not helpful as kudo take a minimum time. A video will be more helpful. I’ll share additional details next time, when it will happen with me.

Right now I’m searching local guides from Jaipur and Chittorgarh for my upcoming meetups in these cities. Approx. 50+ posts from Jaipur and Chittorgarh opened by me and found just 17 local guides. Still I’m working on it.

  1. Sorry to inform that the problem still persists.
  2. I am able to give Kudos through Mobiles (Tested with 3 Mobiles).
  3. The Problem is limited to ‘ONLY REPLIES’, that too from Laptops.
  4. This is the LG Connect Home Page & from all Browsers, I am able to give or revoke KUDOS. Please see both the screen shots, where KUDOS count is high & low

1. With Higher KUDOS Value

2. With Lower Kudos Value

  • Also, Main Page of any “Post”, I can give or revoke KUDOS.

2. Lower Value

  • I am NOT ABLE to Give KUDOS to any new Reply or Revoke my already awarded Kudos for any OLD REPLIES.

Hope the situation is clear; there is surely a problem - it can be multiple problems, as well. I have tried with 2 Laptops and rebooted, also.

I will be moving away from this place as of tomorrow and won’t be able to give info, after that.

{And, to me, this is to be attended by ‘Lithium’}.

@TravellerG Referring specifically to this post, and to the first reply from Ermest…
you actually did managed give a “kudo” to Ermest’s first reply. So it’s not that you cannot give a “kudo” to a reply. You did. Maybe it could be a connection issue as Ermest suggested.

Need more tries on your end. Can you try to see if you can “kudo” this specific reply from me or not?

@TravellerG So I got a kudo from you for my reply. So, you should check for your other posts that you say you have a problem with. I suspect it’s a connection issue on your end during the last few days. But you should check and report back regardless.

  1. As an engineer, I wanted Google to note a typical problem (probably, Lithium issue); that is all.
  2. I could give Kudos through Mobile.
  3. I reconfirm, that there is / was a problem ; ie. awarding / revoking Kudos through Laptop, only for replies - OK? if Google is interested to get a feed back, kindly note it, thanks.
  4. Now, I am out of that place & have no problem.

I am sorry that your problem still present @TravellerG , and thank you for clarify that you was giving Kudos in Mobile.

Can you make a test, switching your mobile on “desktop mode”?

In this way, you will use the classik “desktop” interface (and the related script), even if in mobile.

I had a different issue today (on mobile only) an I had to switch to desktop mode to be able to reply in Connect.

If you think that the issue is “profile related”, maybe switching in this mode you will not be able to give kudos

Dear friend, @ErmesT - I am so thankful, that you took so much of care for this issue… Yes, it is important to Google, but not much to me, as an individual.

As I wrote earlier, I moved from the place, where the problem was visible; as an engineer, I confirm that the problem persisted, till I left my previous destination - still confirming that all other functions, including awarding Kudos from somebody else’s profile page was possible. Rather, all other functions were operational. OK?

I just gave a feedback - I am back to normal Land & systems are normal; but the problem is/was still to be evaluated, if Google is interested. I am OK, as of now.

@ErmesT @StephenAbraham @IrrPavlova I was about to create a post when I saw this one that is about the same problem that I am having. I am able to provide Kudos (within Chrome) for all situations except for replies. I cannot provide any Kudos to any reply within any post… but I, too, am able to provide kudos for the same (or any) reply using the same internet connection via a mobile device. It is not my practice to use my mobile device at all to go to Local Guides Connect and it’s not practical to use my mobile device to provide Kudos to a specific reply. Has this problem been reported and hopefully being resolved? Thanks in advance!

I gave you a like with my mobile device with Chrome browser just now.

I am experiencing this situation only with low connection, so it is probably an issue related to the internet connection, more than to the browser or the Local Guides Connect page itself. If the issue is continuing, feel free to add a screenshot

@ErmesT It’s constant and has never worked via desktop. I guess it’s never a Kudos to replies for me. :frowning:

Can you share with us your operating system version and chrome version. Also, as always suggested, have you tried to delete cookies and restart the browser?
