I have been trying to add a new location to the maps of a local sushi shop that just had it’s grand opening. The owners knew I was doing this and thanked me for doing it too so now I feel bad.
I have filled in every piece of information that the new location form asks for but it won’t accept it. By which I do not mean it changed to ‘Not Approved’. What happens is that it will be marked as pending for a few seconds then it will dissapear from my list of edits completely with no notification and the pictures attatched will go to the co-ordinated 0.0000, 0.0000.
Do I have a ban or something preventing me from adding locations? If I do I have no idea why as I have only added one location and it was accepted prior to this.
This is not related to you, simply Google Maps need time to verify and approve your edit. The fact that the pending edit is not visible on your profile is not a problem. Have you received the "thank you mail’? If so, your edit is under verification.
The issue about the photos is known. I am tagging @GeorgesHR for checking it.
As the owner is a friend, I suggest you to show this link to him: https://www.google.com/business/. With Mybusiness he can also have more control of his page in Google Maps.
I have not recieved any emails and its been nearly 24 hours since the first posting of the shop. That is why I am very confused as there has just been nothing to indicate anything has happened at all.
If they did go through I hope I don’t get in trouble for posting a few of them.
Yeah I still have no email, and it is still missing from my Edits list. Something is going on and I have no clue what to do. Is @GeorgesHR able to see into my profile and figure something out maybe or do I need to go elsewhere?

Like mentioned above, sometimes your edits will not be approved for various reasons. The owners of this sushi restaurant should be able to register it on Google My Business. This process is free and very easy to setup.

I would just get the owners to go through the business link, but they are not very tech savvy and they struggle with English so it would be quiet the painful process I’m sure they won’t want to go through to be honest.

You mean to say that after submitting, your edit tab was showing as pending and later there is no way to find your edit in that tab? If so, then would you mind sharing a screenshot from your edit tab?

We can see in your words, you had a good chat with them and it will be more easy to let them know about that process. The process is really very simple.

There should be (5) locations added name “Sora Sushi House” But as you can see there isn’t any showing up. I can post it again to show the pending, then wait about 5 seconds to show it dissapear if needed.
I would like to be able to contribute more to maps, if it would let me.
SKIDZOID E.N.T INTERSELF DOLL is a prostitute I tried to remove but got denied. Dimpleskin is an ad in the middle of the street I also got denied for removal as well. I do not understand the algerithm at times.
As for the owners, I don’t think I can emphasize how un tech savy they are, but I will try to get them to do it. It still is an issue that I cannot add places.

@Augustus_Ramseyer there seems to be something weird going on with the Edits section of the Your Contributions page, indeed. Since a day or 2 ALL of my edits have disappeared there. This has been the case on at least 1 previous occasion, but then things went back to normal after a few hours (as things usually do in the Maps app). Now it has been days.
There is no problem with my profile as such (all points, badges, pictures and reviews are still there - the total picture ‘views’ count is stuck since days as well, but that is far from unusual) and also when I make an edit on my phone, this gets approved within seconds (the notification shows up) and the confirmation email is also delivered.
As this is happening when accessing the Your Contributions page on Maps both in the app on my phone and in the browser on my laptop, I also think it is not related to any app, phone or OS version.
@JanVanHaver yeah its only been for the past two days for me too, just completely removing my edits on the Your Contributions page. I have never experienced this before, but this being something going on for days is frustrating.
The picture counter is stuck for me too, like eveyone else which isn’t an issue for me because I know it’s getting fixed. But I am getting a wierd issue when I answer large numbers of Yes/No questions, halve of them will dissapear. So if I answer 100, it will remove credit for about 60 of them which is also annoying but dealable.
This was happening on both my Android Phone and ChromeOS so I do not think it is an OS issue either.
I just want to let you all know that it seems that the update today has resolved this issue. I have no idea what was causing it but it seems clear now. Thank you all for your time as it is greatly appreciated.
Spoke too soon, still having the issue. I am truly sorry to message you all like that, it is unfortunate that it was not fixed.
I am still unable to create a missing place without it disapearing from my list, I still have no answers either and it’s extremly frustrating that I can not fully contribute to Google Maps.
