This lake created by a dam in the Umiam river is all for you to enjoy. It is quite popular among tourists and is a perfectly picturesque location to enjoy the stunning views of nature; in addition to the adventure activities that one can do here such as boating, kayaking, etc. The concoction of all these activities makes it an amazing travel destination that is worth a visit.
The summer season would be just the perfect time to give Umiam Lake a visit. During this time the climate is quite cool and perfect for traveling. However, you can also consider visiting this place at any time of the year.

Trekking and Camping
Trekkers can enjoy trekking and camping at Umiam Lake. You can trek through the dense forests and set your camp at the Lumpongdeng Island. This island is quite isolated and is located in a reservoir. Cook food and light campfires for a wonderful experience.
Fishing
Enjoy fishing at Umiam Lake as the entire area is home to various fishes like catfishes and carps. You can see locals that come to Umiam Lake for fishing every day.
