The journey of “Celebrate with Me” began in June 2024, sparked by a quiet moment over a cup of chai at Beatles Cafe & Grill House, where the radio began highlighting that day’s specialty and suggested ways to celebrate. What started as that simple idea has grown into a vibrant way to connect international holidays and awareness days with a shared passion for mapping. Over time, “Celebrate with Me” also evolved to find space to celebrate inclusivity and empower the community.
“Celebrate with Me” also draws motivation from other Local Guides who consistently share valuable contributions on respective topics, providing a space on Connect for their efforts to shine and be recognized. Celebrating days on Connect allows Local Guides to share unique perspectives, foster deeper connections & highlight important causes that matter to the global community.
Looking Back at Milestones
The initiative officially launched in June 2024 & the first index post in December 2024 is made available.
It is incredible to see how these categories have helped highlight everything from local culinary gems to vital environmental initiatives on Google Maps. Over the past two years, 162 unique days have been explored, categorized as follows:
