Hello guys,

I have recently showed a friend how to add places and I asked him to add the recently opened supermarket around the corner from where he lives. He even added a picture and we took some pics on a visit later that week.

For some reason the place has now merged with another supermarket that’s 6 blocks away. The newly added disappeared from the map, along with the reviews and the 5-star qualification, and now the pictures merged with the other supermarket ones. Editing the location won’t help. Is there any way to revert the edition back to the two different places? The two were showing a week ago.

Any help will be appreciated!!

Google Maps us very eager to prevent duplicates. Sometimes too eager.

I would suggest to the business owner to use https://www.google.com/business/ and create the business listing from there.

Then later you can delete your photos and upload them to the new place created by the owner.

You will not be able to fix or prevent this problem yourself.

Hit the Community tap at the top and make a post.

Make sure to include the link and all the details.
