Two overlapped towers!

Hi all,

Do you see these two towers that are placed inside the exact same ground?

Oh, No :wink: These are just one tower with a nice satellite imagery stitching glitch.

I just exploring one area to see if any road changes were needed. Suddenly I noticed that the border of the satellite imagery was exactly placed over one tower and created this strange shape!

I saw such things before but mostly for shorter buildings and when it comes to tall buildings the difference is clearly visible to our eye.

And one important tip: This image better indicates why we should always consider the ground of a building as a reference for putting the marker of a place in the middle of the geometry shape (room, unit) it occupied inside the building. If we place the marker based on the roof, it could be far away from its real location.

Did you ever see such a satellite imagery glitch? It is good to share with us.

What a funny way to build a high-rise building :thinking: . In all seriousness @Amiran , a lot of people(including me) need to take into consideration the angle at which the photograph is taken while trying to add a place. Most of the time we don’t get the chance to edit places like skyscrapers, but it’s a good piece of information to keep in mind.

Thank you for sharing

Thank you @Lukas_1

Indeed it will be nice if we see such a high-rise V-shape building in the future! Architects and Civil Engineers can do everything these days in cooperation with each other.

I actually have a building like that in my city. It’s called V-tower, Prague. You should check it out :slightly_smiling_face: .

Kindly share the Maps link.

@Lukas_1

I saw that V-tower before but it is still far from a pure V shape because of structural and cost constraints. It is indeed rectangular that has an internal V. Still it is very iconic in the city.

Amazing, @Amiran

Great catch.

I suggest you provide in app feedback on this to the team.

It should be resolved in the next update of the satellite imagery. But surely I’ll do your suggestion to bring this to the attention of the team, for any changes in the stitching process if needed. Thanks
