Two Badges Lost

I have written the First Review of hundreds of places but my record now shows zero. The same is true for my Reviews with over 200 characters, and the number of my reviews with Likes. All show zero. Why is this?

Hi @Seahawk190

I looked at your profile on Google Maps to hopefully help you figure it out.

But you have set your profile to restricted. Please consider to make it unrestricted in the settings for a short while, so I or a colleague can take a look.

There is an ongoing issue with reviews. Please see https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/General-Discussion/Known-issue-Unpublished-reviews-and-photos-on-Google-Maps/td-p/2974938

That might explain what you are experiencing.

Cheers

My account is now unrestricted.

Everything I submitted was published, but the count under Badges is zero for those three categories. When I add more, the count remains at zero.

@Seahawk190 Good morning from Denmark.

I can confirm from your public profile that you have added a whooping 1979 reviews and none of them are public.

This explains the badge issues you noticed.

Google has automatic filters that hide your reviews so only you can see them. This can happen when some of your reviews violate the guidelines, including:
Prohibited and Restricted Content
Format Specific Criteria (See under Text Reviews and Captions)

Read about typical review guideline violations here.

If many or all your reviews are made private you could try the appeals form found here.

If you are on a Desktop use this link to Count your hidden contributions. From a mobile device use this link.

But it could be the fault of the bug currently being investigated. See the link I already shared.

You can restrict your account again now if you wish.

My best
Morten

@Seahawk190

You should think about not posting duplicates all around. This is considered as abuse, and might be the reason why you have no public reviews.

There could be another reason also.

The points are valid for one year, on a rolling basis.
For eg., the points shown against your name is what you have earned from July 2020 till date.
This I am told is the reason why my points have gone down.
So also the stars earned.

@GaneshSGS

That is simply not true.

Your issue might be that you have a lot of low quality pics, and that you steal pics.

Example:

Stolen

Where can it be found

@GaneshSGS

Where did you learn that points are on a rolling basis? From my experience over 4 years the points are cumulative over the years.

Cheers

Morten

Sorry, I should clarify.

All pictures I have uploaded are taken on my camera and shared.

And I do not see any purpose in stealing a picture just to upload on Google maps !!

OK, maybe I was incorrect.

But the fact is in July 2020 the points accumulated and shown against my name was approximate ~~9500

Today it is being shown as 5989

It is not a marginal reduction which happens when Google credits you as soon as you upload and then withdraws it saying it is not accepted.

I see no reason for this to come down,

So it was my assumption that the points are shown against your name on Yer On Year (YOY) basis.

I would definitely like to know what could be the reason for this.

Hi @GaneshSGS

The typical reason for loss of points is related to your timeline.

Please visit this link and make sure that you have selected “Auto-delete (off)”.

Otherwise, you will keep losing points from answers given by you when they get deleted automatically by Google.

This should solve your problem in the future. Sorry, there is no way to recover the points you already lost.

All the best

Morten

Hello @MortenCopenhagen ,

Thank you for your suggestion.

I have done what you recommended now.

I don’t seriously have a problem with deductions.

But I am worried about my activity record being on Google permanently, I think it is a serious security issue to leave a trail of all your activities on Google.

Anyway, I did visit the timeline of my various trips undertaken in 2017, 2017 but that seems intact.
My google map timeline is not disturbed, so I need to find out what exactly this setting means.

Thank you

@GaneshSGS

You should definitely not use the Location tracking if you prefer not.

I looked at your profile. And found only a few issues. Adding photos that: a) are blurry, b) show faces, and c) are duplicated or near duplicates should be avoided. It is better to delete such photos.

Only one of your reviews is private.

So I can not really explain why you lost some points.

Cheers

Morten

Thank you for all the help. I did not know there were guidelines until now. I am just a Level-10 Beginner. I removed most of my duplicate reviews & photos, and self-likes. Then I sent an appeal.

@GaneshSGS

I gave you the proof that you stole that pic, so stop pretending.

@Seahawk190

Saying that you are level 10 beginner makes no sense. Level 10 is max what can get, and it’s expected that those have the highest standard of all.

Other thing, you have black and white photos, which clearly aren’t yours. Also, there are other pics which aren’t yours either, pics that are obviously 50-60 years old.

Example:

There are still a lot of duplicates, and plenty of videos which don’t belong there.

Here you took the screenshot of the pic, and posted that.

Bubica1992 — I have corrected most of my mistakes. Please delete all of your photos of my photos. Written descriptions are good, no need for photos.

@Seahawk190

You corrected some of the last things you did. There is still plenty of pics which are not yours, and plenty of duplicates. With all of that, you could easily end up banned.

Screenshots I took are there as a proof, that’s it.

Please delete those screenshots. Thanks!
