I have noticed something odd recently, and I was wondering if I did something and accidentally turned it off. I can’t find any posts here mentioning my issue.
Up until a little while ago (not sure when exactly it changed), if I was writing a review on mobile and closed the app or navigated back to the map, it would auto-save a draft of my review. If I returned to page and scrolled down, I’d see a draft of my review automatically saved that I could just pick up again and continue.
I recently found that if I navigate away from the Maps app or my phone locks (I’m easily distracted), the review is lost completely. I no longer have drafts.
If I opt to navigate away in the middle of a review, it gives me a pop up that says I’ll lose my work, giving me the options “Cancel” or “Discard”. No save as draft anymore. As a result, I’ve lost many drafts if something came up in real life when I was in the middle of it and I had to answer a call or do something away from my phone. Not only is there no auto-save, but there’s not even a save as draft option.
I am wondering if I turned something off somewhere. Losing this feature has made leaving reviews a huge chore as I’ll begin writing and lose it 2-3 times before I get to post it.
Hmm. That’s too bad. It was a very useful feature that I used A LOT. I can still see drafts that I began weeks ago when I go to the location of the review. But as of a few weeks ago (around the time the lost photo views issue began), that feature seems to have died. I thought perhaps I hit some button accidentally because drafts were definitely working for me in the beginning of February. I didn’t think the photo views issue and this were related. They may not be, but it seems very coincidental that they both seemed to start around the same time.
It’s really annoying as my app crashes/closes itself randomly (not always) when my phone locks. I lose everything.
@Amiran , I received this message, too. Unfortunately, I have not found a realistic way to find my draft reviews. I also found the post that @MortenCopenhagen linked to, but I have no idea when or where I may have backed out before completing a review.
I remember seeing screenshots from users review contribution list where some of them were marked as drafts.
But it is a long time ago, and I suspect the new emails are targeted to users with draft reviews. I have never seen any of my reviews flagged as drafts and I have not received the email.
