For a few years I started to rate sites on Google Maps, write some reviews and post photos of the places I visited, but I felt that was not enough. Then I started to explore a bit more about what the Local Guides program was about (helped after winning the Level 4 or 5 badge).
I started adding sites that were missing from the map, everyday-places that nobody had bothered to add, write reviews of each restaurant, bar, supermarket, even pharmacies that I visited. I also commited myself to make the modifications in places that were badly cataloged, or that had their service hours, telephones or websites out of date.
I think the contribution I have made in this last time has been very significant for travelers who visit the city, and even for residents who often search Google Maps for the best sites or simply want to know if a business is open before leaving home.

Hi @ferliberal
The contribution is very important. I already went to a store that was closed. This is very bad. After that, I began to look at contributions. Thanks for sharing.
