When looking for a new place to eat or visit, I, like I’m sure most people, search the location on Google Maps and then see what the ratings and photos look like. From there, if it’s a restaurant for example, the person may navigate to another page that might be more well known for food reviews. Then they may go to yet another website or social media outlet where images of said restaurant are shared. My mission as a Google Local Guide is to make sure that all of those things can be accomplished from that first click! I do the best that I can to make sure that the business is in the correct location so that it can be found easily on Google Maps, write a detailed (but succinct!) review, as well as post high quality, accurate, and diverse pictures that can give someone a complete experience with just one click. In a world where so much information is at our fingertips, I believe that less is more, in that the less steps it takes someone to acquire the information that they’re searching, the better. I think the Google Local Community is an immensely valuable tool in sharing first hand information in this ever-connected, social world. Don’t we all need a little more trust?
