Pro-tip: why hike up a mountain when you can just drive to the top? If you ever find yourself driving through the middle of North Carolina on I-74 south of Mount Airy, look for this big hunk of rock in the sky. Officially a State Park it’s open during daylight hours only but you can drive all the way to it’s peak! The view is absolutely fantabulous?? 
Cars only no big rigs or RV’s unfortunately.
