While several parishes, (parishes are similar to counties in Louisiana) are under a Hurricane Warning due to Tropical Storm Barry, at this time, here on Bayou Castine, we remain under a Tropical Storm Warning. As living in a marina, on a bayou, in a storm situation, is a unique experience, I thought that I would share some of our preparations with my fellow #localguides. It is relevant to #googlemaps as well, because as you can see in the following video, the only road access from my home was already flooded this morning and the residents both in houses, and on boats can no longer get out, despite the fact that the weather has not yet gotten extreme.
I hope this is informative and for everyone in the path of Tropical Storm Barry, stay safe.

@helga19 You are so sweet to take the time to inquire about my safety. Today the water was down enough in front of my home, for my husband to walk to the end of the road without his wading boots and get our car from where he parked it on high ground. Then we were able to drive a few streets over and get the truck of an elderly gentleman that lives in a boat behind us on the Bayou. We parked it in front of his boat slip where the ground is dry. We were also able to retrieve some of his items that were floating near by. The water is still flooded in that area, this man cannot leave his boat. We brought him some groceries and bug spray. My husband had to tie a rope and float the supplies over to him. We are all having trouble with an influx of insects. We have ants in our home that we are dealing with. My home is fine, and we went to town and ran our errands. Thank you so very much, for your concern!

Hello dear @lynneannec
Thank you for your reply.
I am very glad that the situation is improving, the water level is decreasing. Well that there is food. But bad that there were insects.when the water stagnates for a long time, insects, mosquitoes, midges, ants. The main thing that they were not carriers of diseases. Take care, share the news. I wish you a speedy improvement. ,
My best wishes,
