Just curious, on my Google maps it listed that I reviewed over a thousand places. But, when I click on a place I reviewed, it shows that I reviewed 300 odd places next to my name. Just curious as to why that is? It’s not a big issue just curious.

Do you mind sending us a screenshot of what places exactly you can see next to your name?

Did you check the list of your latest reviews on the Your contributions tab on Google Maps app menu? Are these places you can see additionally part of that list or they just appear even though you didn’t visit these places in real?

Hi @KatyaL thanks for taking the time to read and respond, really appreciate it.

Here are the screenshots of what I mean. On my contributions tab it indicates 1019 reviews but when I look at my specific place I reviewed, it says 305 reviews next to my name.

It’s no big deal really as I’m just curious about how it all works on Google maps.

Hi @SirB ,

First of all thank you for your contributions on Google Maps and for taking your time to share these screenshots.

Usually the number of the reviews in your contributions should be the same number as the ones you see next to your name when you click on a place that you’ve reviewed already.

I would like to kindly ask you to check out if you’ve marked some of your contributions as private. Please double check your settings and also give it a bit more time for the reviews to sync on both places. Additionally, some of your contributions may be marked private if they do not adhere to Google Maps contribution policy.

Thank you ever so much for taking the time to respond with helpful details, I really appreciate it!

I’m not sure if I marked some reviews as private or as you pointed out that some reviews may have not met Google maps’ policy.

I did received an email from Google maps acknowledging that I achieved a new record of 1,000 reviews as a new achievement, etc. So perhaps it will take some time for all to sync.

All good as I understand the process and happy I contribute a bit to Google maps that may help in some small ways.
