Triund Trek

Triund trek was the first ever trek that I went on unprepared. I wasn’t aware what all one needs to take while going on to a trek. However yet the experience was an awe. So Triund is some 4-7 kms away from the beautiful city Mcleodganj that is a part of one of the beautiful cities that comes under Himachal Pradesh, India.

To reach Triund. You need to hire a taxi from Mcleodganj to the point the trek starts from. There you will have to go with a check that what all the baggages you are taking to the triund hill, how many water bottles, wrappers, etc are there with you. This is just to ensure that nothing, none of the plastic is left behind and this is done to maintain the beauty of Triund. To make sure these things are not thrown here and there.

Once you have made an entry to the Triund hill, from there your trek will start. The trek consists on rocky mountaneous rocks that have been placed in such a way that it is used to walk on. Now just because the path is of rocks, there are a lot of steep, plain and rocks that are covered in moisture, so it is a must that you need to wear a good boot or a treking boot to make sure you dont get injured. Because the rocks mostly are moisture affected and there very much slippery.

Plus you will get to encounter a lot of places where you will see that the water is flowing and is crossing your way to the top. The water can be termed as the purest form of water as it comes directly from the mountains. So these are the most amazing things you will get to see on the at to the Triund top.

The more you will walk, the away you will get with the city and the more you will get away from the city, the beautiful the city will seem from the very top of the mountain.

You dont realy need to worry even if you are going to the Triund without anything to eat. Of couse the way consists of a lot of small cafe that can accommodate water, chocolates, tea and my favourite, Maggi. But then the charges are more than what you pay for the same stuff at the market. Of course you should not expect stuffs at the same price you egt to purchase in the city. People use horse, and most of the times, they carry the food stuff on their back from the ground to the Triund hill. And this is the least they deserve for making all the things available for us even at a mountain.

Now the triund trek is almost 3-4 hours long and once you hvae reached there after all the circumstances, believe me you will not regret. It is the most amazing view that you would never wnat to take out of your head.

Imagine you are at a place surrounded by mountains on your right, mountains on your left and mountains and mountains. Just huge and beautiful mountains. And you are in the middle of the mountians under the stars and about to stay under the tent for the whole night. You wont egt any network signals at the Triund. But then that will seem nothing before the ambience you would be surrounded by.

It was one of the best experience for the first timers who haven’t done trekking at all. Best time to visit is just after the winters, opening of trek.
