Tarma is a province of the state of Junin in Peru, it´s located in the Andes, that’s why it’s known as “La Perla de Los Andes” (The Pearl of the Andes) for the beauty of their valleys, mountains and nature, as well as their fields that grow food for all of Peru and fields of flowers, which will then decorate the streets at Easter.
Located at 3048 above sea level, we will find a lot of culture and tradition, like The Tarma´s Carnival in February and March, Easter, the streets are filled with carpets made of flowers that grow in the fields on the outskirts of the city, the pilgrimage to the sanctuary of the Lord of Muruhuay in May, and many more celebrations.
If you like to explore, You can visit several places that you will like, one of them is the Huagapo Cave, located in the district of Palcamayo, 40 minutes from Tarma by car, It´s an amazing cave that you can do trekking and explore its depth, and see the crystal clear underground waters of the cave.
