Trip to Paris in January

For my wife’s birthday we’re going to Paris next january. Any tips from guides are most welcome!

Hi daanv!

It depends a lot what you and your wife like. There a lot of different things to see ou of the beaten tracks.

Some place I really enjoy in Paris are the Passage. There’s a lot of covered paths with little (craft) shops inside like Passage du grand Cerf or Passage des Panoramas, Passage Jouffroy. It can be visited fast or you can take your time. Some tourists comes here but it’s really not a great touristic place of Paris.

If you like Parks the Buttes Chaumont have a great view over Paris and is quiet.

If you like architecture and art, “Les Marais” is a part of Paris in the 4th borough, like the passages there’s a bit of tourists but that’s fine. You can also find good restaurants (small ones) where the food is much better than in touristic places.

Speaking of restaurant, never go in a restaurant near a touristic area, it’s expensive and food is bad.

If I think of another interesting area I will definitely tell you. Hope you’ll enjoy the city!
