Trip to Pachmarhi

Last week we visited pachmarhi with a package from travel traingle. One and only hill station located in center of india, Pachmarhi is often known as the queen of the Satpura ranges Situated at an altitude of 1,067 feet. This journey turns into lot of memories with my friends. This place is well occupied with lush green environment, mountains, waterfalls, sunrise/sunset point, temples and also some adventurous activities such as parasailing, zip lining, etc.One will easily fall in love with the greenery it offers, being a forest area.

Getting there -
By Air- Bhopal is the nearest airport. Major flights are connected from major cities. It is 195 kms from Bhopal.

By train - The nearest rail station is Pipariya (50 kms). It is on the Mumbai-Howrah line and is well connected to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Some Highlights of the trip

Our journey started from Hyderbad to Nagpur by Train.

  • Day1 - Reached Nagpur by 9am and started to pachmarhi by pre-booked cab. It was an awesome site seeing on the way to pachmarhi with lush green all the way, mainly the Ghat road with awesome weather passing through the clouds. From Nagpur to Pachmarhi usually it took 5 hours but we can’t go without stopping the vehicle. Had lunch at Gurukripa Family Restaurant - must visit(Tamia), excellent food we had in this trip, while going back to nagpur we visited the same restaurant. Finally we reached Pachmarhi by 6pm and checkin at our hotel, rest of the day will be leisure or you can visit the local streets.

  • Day2 - Got fresh up and get into the Gypsy which comes in our package
Bison Lodge museum - nothing much to say, just a visiting place.
Pandav Caves - The climb up is through rock-cut steps, some of which are steep. The view from the top is nice, although the caves itself are locked up by metal grills.
Rajat prapat - Its a bit far from droping point of gypsy. One have to walk to go there. It is the highest waterfall in central india. the entire path to Rajat prapat is breathtaking scene of natural beauty. the steam flowing down through Apsara vihar drops over more than 350 feet in height forming rajat prapat.
Apsara Vihar - It is also on the same way to rajat prapat. It is one of the most favourite swimming pools for tourists. we can take some cool pictures.
B-fall - Most recommend place in pachmarhi trip. You need to use gypsy, private cars are allowed to certain limit only. This site also demands good physical fitness as it involves trekking. Carrying own water bottle is recommended. once you saw the fall you can’t come out of this place. my best visit in this trip.
Rajendragiri - Its just a view point where you can take some cool pictures.

  • Day3 - Boring day in this trip but we ourselves make it fun day.
Jata Shankar temple - Very close to hotels location. It is also easily accessible by car, mini bus even by walk aswell. It is a photogenic sightseeing point at rock-shelter location, dedicated to lord Shiva.
Handi khoh - A breathtaking view. That’s all and that’s what it’s important.Nothing much to do other than clicking pictures but the curves of the mountain and rock is amazing.
Priyadarshini - Nothing spectacular, but since it is on the list of tourist spots and on the way to mahadev temple, could stop by. Similar to Handi Khoh.
Pachmarhi lake - It’s a beautiful lake! Not very big in size but very clean. Boating and zip line is available, We skipped zipline, Instead we opted for boating.

Rest of the day spent with funny dances and even in night we enjoyed a lot by roaming on pachmarhi streets.

  • Day4 - Checkout and started journey back to Nagpur with lots of memories. on the way we visited chota mahadev temple and also a beautiful lake.

Places missed - Dhoopgarh/Reechhgarh, Mahdev temple.

Places to visit Daywise if you planned on your own - Gypsy(1500/- -2000/-)
Day1 - Pandav caves, Museum, Apsara vihar, Silver fall, Panchali kund, B fall, Lake Boating, Rajesndra giri
Day2 - Jata shankar, Handikhoh, priyadarshini, Mahadev, gupta mahadev, Begum palace.
