Biella is a beautiful town in the Italian region of Piedmont, it’s close to the alps and is a cultural and artistic center.
About 15 kilometres from Biella there is a Roman Catholic devotional complex called Santuario di Oropa. It is one of the nine Sacri Monti of Piedmont and Lombardy and is on the UNESCO list. Worth a visit.
Beautiful place wow! Do you live close to Biella or did you travel especially to see it? I’ve never been there, only to Tuscany. Is there an entrance fee to get to this palace?
Can you share more information about your experience in the town?
Thank you @DanniS . I live near Milan, about an hour from Biella.
Oropa is an old great monastic complex, you can visit it for free, ideal for a weekend trip. Sometimes I go there with my family.
There are shops restaurants and beautiful mountain walks. Inside the oldest church there is a statue of the Madonna, much venerated in the North-East Italy.
Thanks @AdamGT .
I was in Piedmont yesterday, it’s not always cloudy.
However, in Oropa the weather is particular, it is usually sunny in the morning and towards the late afternoon it clouds over.
