Welcome to my city!
Those who have never been here should catch up as soon as possible - Trier offers all sorts of living history and sights to touch.
Trier is said to be 1300 years older than Rome!
- The Latin inscription above adorns the facade of the «Red House» on the main market. In his time Trier was also very important in Roman history - a world city !!!
Roman emperors chose Trier as their residence, and the monumental buildings they erected, such as the Porta Nigra and the Constantine Basilica, can still be seen today, which can also be experienced live inside.
But, according to legend, the settlement was founded by an Assyrian prince Trebeta, who fled here with his retinue while fleeing from his murderous stepmother, Semiramis.
You can read his story in the Trier City Museum, or let yourself be told - there are very interesting tours in several languages.
So a very interesting city! Practically an open air museum !!!
Palace garden again.
If you want, you can visit the events of the Arena or the ancient Amphiteater, where costumed actors bring the times of the Romans back to life,
or you can be accompanied by an authentic gladiator through the dark catacombs of the Imperial Baths…
Even our basketball team is called «GLADIATORS »!
So - quickly, pack your bags - we are waiting for you! ?
P.S. - Karl Marx was born in this city!
