Trekking to Kilimanjaro and needing to find at ATM

Whilst preparing for my trek to Kilimanjaro I decided as an over preparer that I would need access to an ATM. At the time google maps didnt show any ATMs so the hotel trip notes advised that the nearest was a 20 minute cab ride into town. (I had to go matrix level deep to find this information)

So whilst I was researching and preparing for other times on the trip I felt there wasn’t allot of information on the local area in Tanzania (which could be expected) and felt whilst I had a bit of down time I could combine my adventurous side, my love of taking amateur photos, my OCD side and my love exploring the local surroundings.

I found the locals had quite a shock when a non Tanzanian walked through a village market place taking photos and spending a few dollars with the local guide, I was given a such a warm welcome and a few friendly tips from some lovely locals (i.e. check the use by date on the bottled beer as they sometimes sell the expired beers to the out of towners).

I’m glad I have this inquisitive and somewhat of an OCD side to my personality as it’s gives me the drive to discover and explore new places whether they’re treks through a forest, surf breaks around Australia, Wineries, cool cafes with amazing coffee or food.

Oh yes and in the end I did find an ATM it was 20 minute cab ride from the hotel.
