Trekking the Snowy Trails: Manali

Let me take you on a virtual journey to a winter wonderland in India called, Manali. I just love introducing people to new journeys and new places. So let’s go! It was then in December when I headed to Manali with my squad for an adventurous weekend getaway cause It was time to quench my long extreme thirst of being close to the nature.

Here it goes!

Located in Himachal Pradesh, Manali is a postcard paradise. We witnessed the majestic glory in just 2 days of our visit. Being a group of tourism students, we had planned the whole itinerary ourselves, which went something like this.

Took an overnight bus to Manali & there I was, waking up in amidst snow capped mountains, all awestruck.

Day 1 was super fun and full of merriments as after checking in to our hotel room we directly left for Solang Valley.

Solang Valley welcomed us in a marvelous way as little snowflakes showering all upon us. PS: It was my first time experiencing snow and I was just on the cloud nine and very much speechless. The beautiful blue sky colours itself with those white fluffy clouds and the snowy white mountains made me feel that I was amidst heaven.

No kidding, even after putting up five layers of warm clothes I was freezing crazy! The fun part begins right here as we began with the snow games! Activity 1 was sliding 20 feet down, in the snow - on a tire. Phew, it was quite an experience, to be honest the best one. Next one was zip lining, screaming with joy and happiness it was me amidst the glorious aura of Manali.

Manali gave me shipload of memories to treasure and I finally threw ‘Manali’ out of my ‘Bucket list’ bucket… It’s a big world out there can’t wait to explore the miracles of this magical world.

Moving on, took a stroll through the snow, making some snow angels and eating hot noodles on the way. Most of all loved dressing up in the traditional ‘Himachali attire’. Here’s a still from how amazing the day was with such amazing people.

Day 2 was freezing fun, like literally. We reached Hidimba Devi Temple. Walked around the classic streets of Manali. And at last we took a halt at the shoppers paradise, Mall Road of Manali- famous for its scrumptious food and budget shopping. Would love to revisit the ‘snow much fun’ place someday real soon.

That is all from Manali. Signing off!

Thanks for treating me so good, Manali. Until next time, until more adventures.

Aww I really enjoyed this recap of your trip, @RiyaM - never heard of Manali and I loved seeing the happiness and fun through your photos. It’s so cool that it was also your first time seeing snow! My first time seeing snow was sometime after 2015 as well so I know the feeling of finally being able to experience it and freeze haha. And of course, as always, very stylish jumpsuits!

@RiyaM it is perceived that it is a great experience, but if it is with friends, very interesting Manali, thanks for sharing!

That must be a crazy experience like back in our childhood, sliding down a hill on a tire or a piece of board

Great post @RiyaM :+1:

Hi @RiyaM

Thanks for sharing. Just to let you know, I’ve enlarged your photos to make them stand out more. They are absolutely incredible. I have a small suggestion for your post, to add Google Maps links to all the locations you mentioned. This way others can easily click and check out where everything is.

This must have been a really cool experience. How high was this place at? It looks it was cold as well. Isn’t it challenging to do it during the winter?
