So, i visited lake Bhrigu , a glacial lake named after a maha saptrishi,situated in Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It was a 2 night 3 day trip. Sharing some of photos from that trip
Hi @Banks_28
Wow, so amazing. Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos.
How can we reach this place and when is the best time to visit it? Can you add some more details to it? Where is this place and what was your experience while being there? What other places can you visit?
I relabeled your post and it now appears in the Travel, as it fits better there.
@Aruni thank you for appreciation.
So to begin your trek to this place, first one needs to reach town of Manali, which can be reached by Delhi or Chandigarh via overnight bus journey.
From Manali, you travel to Gulaba in hired taxis. I suggest you to book some tour operator for this trek as it can be dangerous to visit there alone.
It’s usually 3days 2 night trip with camping in wild. You’ll really enjoy visiting this place, especially during April-May.
I couldn’t reach the summit due to bad weather. But it’s amazing place to visit and seeing a frozen lake is altogether a different experience.
A great post with great photos @Banks_28 however I would suggest tat you should add captions to your photos.
@AdamGT A great suggestion indeed. Thank you for giving me this advice. I wished to add caption to all of them, but since they were so many of them, I decided not to, since most of them were self explanatory. Also, I incorporated most of those details in my main content so I was less eager to give them a caption.
What do you think about it?
While we all know that a picture is worth a thousand words and while together with the contents of your post the temptation can be great to just rely on your photographs to stand on their own, in my opinion captions, even just brief ones, are important because without captions, you leave the reader to draw their own conclusions about your photos. Captions make things a lot clearer and help tie the photos to the main content in your post. I feel that photos should stand on there own, that is, if I look at a photo I should be able to understand it without having to read the detailed post and the captions, even just a few words, help with this. Also, in a long post with many photographs, looking at the photos and reading their captions should provide a very good precise of the whole post which will allow me to scan the post if I choose. Lastly, but by no means of least importance, for accessibility reasons, captions are often used by people with visual impairments!
@AdamGT Again thank you for your reply. These were some great points, which I’ll keep in my mind for my future posts. That gives a different angle to see a post, of which I was not aware of. Look forward to getting more of such advices and tips
