In remembrance of ANZAC Day, AUSA is holding tree planting with the Auckland City Council at the Puhinui Reserve. This is a cool chance for us to spend a few hours serving the community. Phil Goff (Auckland Mayor) is attending and opening the event! He’ll say a few words, probably plant the first tree, and will be around to talk to everyone who wants some time with the Mayor. It is running from 10 am – 12 pm with a (free) BBQ lunch after. We would love to have you there! Puhinui Reserve was specifically chosen for us due to its beautiful location, with views out to sea. The map shown above gives the details of location where we will be meeting and places where you can park your car. The green part shows where we are planting the trees and where we’ll meet, and the red bits are where you can park your car. Just bring yourself, some old clothes and shoes you’re not too precious about (sneakers or gumboots). We’ll be providing lunch and refreshments, and all the equipment you’ll need. Can’t wait to see you all!
