The Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) was hosting the event at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capitalâs Agargaon area.
The Bangladesh Festival is a celebration of diversity and culture, with an impressive array of over 160 participating organizations. From hotel resorts to district branding, souvenir shops to airlines, amusement parks to tour guides, thereâs something for everyone. With over 70 traditional food stalls showcasing delicacies from 64 country districts, including Naksi Pitha, Haji Briyani, Bakorkhani, Chui Jhal, and Kebabs, visitors are guaranteed to have a truly delightful experience.
It was a beautiful display of our rich cultural heritage, from the incredible jamdani weaving technique to the cherished Muslin cloth production process. We were all thrilled to celebrate the rediscovery of Muslin yarn after a 170-year break. The event was filled with so many cultural performances, including Sylhetâs regional songs, Gambhira dance, Gazi Kalur Pot, Patha Natya, Baul Song, Puthi Path, and Kawali performances by esteemed artists. And to top it off, we had a breathtaking tourism beauty pageant that added even more excitement to the festivities. It was such an inspiring celebration of our vibrant culture and traditions.
Did you know that on September 27, we celebrate World Tourism Day? Itâs an international observance organized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization since 1980. This yearâs theme is âTourism and Green Investmentâ, which highlights the importance of sustainable tourism.
