Travelling to mehgalaya - an amazing experience

It was my first trip to Meghalaya, one of the seven sister states of North-east India and the place becomes one of my favorite places where I would like to visit again and again. There are several reasons behind it, such as

  1. The greenery of the entire state
  2. Simplicity of the local people
  3. Natural beauty including lakes, hills and falls.

Let me share some of my experiences while spending 5 days in Meghalaya. I visited Jingmaham Living Root Bridge - the natural beauty and greenery is the main attraction apart from the natural bridge formed from the living root of an ancient tree. Mawlynong Village is the cleanest village in Asia. I had a beautiful organic lunch there. In between I saw the balancing rock. After that I visited to Dawki. A small border town in the Jaintia Hills, Dawki and its famed river Umngot is a must visit if you are in Meghalaya. the town is sandwiched between India and Bangladesh. Dawki is a major center of trade between India and Bangladesh. The small city is famous for its tourism scene. Many people flocking to the city in order experience a boat ride in its famed Umngot River. The water is so clear that one can see rocks at 20 feet deep also.

I visited another incomparable place of Meghalaya, which is Cherrapunjee - the heaviest rainfall destination in the world. One can visit Noh-ka-Likai Water Falls, Mawsmai Cave (aged people must think twice before entering this cave due its narrow and undulated pathway inside the cave), Seven Sister Falls while staying at Cherrapunjee.

I also availed sightseeing tour of Shillong covering Lady Hydari Park, Ward’s Lake, Rabindranath Tegor’s house, Elephant Water Falls, Butterfly Museum, Don Bosco Center for Indigenous Cultures & Shillong Peak.

I personally like nature photography and like to keep the memories of my tours in the albums. Additionally, I also took the opportunity to let other people know about the beautiful places that I visited, so that everybody can visit the places after seeing it through my eyes. Google Local Guide gave me the golden opportunity to share my experience with rest of the world and I feel really humbled when I found my photos have been liked by thousands of people, most of whom I personally don’t know also. All these are only possible for being a local guide of Google. Thanks Google for providing me the opportunity for sharing my experiences to the World. I am proud to be a local guide of Google.
