Travelling the West Coast of South Africa - Seashell House, Cape Agulhas.

Seashell House is a guest-house located in L’Agulhas, a village in Cape Agulhas, located on the West Coast of South Africa.

This lovely establishment is definitely one to look into if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with a homely touch.

The guesthouse is decorated almost entirely with seashells collected from the coastline over the years and used to enhance it’s visual appeal.

The guest house is run by a lovely lady named Yvonne Hope who will set you up in the private, self-catering unit. This unit can sleep up to 2 people and boasts a large bed with a pullback curtain for extra privacy, a TV with some basic channels set, beautiful outside views of the area and ocean overall and a large shower to name but a few features.

Yvonne maintains this historic guesthouse by adding new seashells and patterns to an already incredible layout. It really is mesmerizing to look at and try as they may, photographs just do not do the property, or landscape for that matter, any justice.

Guests are provided parking and there is also an outside braai/barbeque area with seating so you can watch the sunset over a chilled beer or glass of wine.

*Disclaimer:*I am in no way affiliated to Seashell House. I have however stayed here on my travels previously and am trying to encourage others to realize this beautiful place on their journey too.

The Cape agulhas Lighthouse also owes some of its monthly decorations to Mrs Hope. Once you have have taken your photo at the Southernmost Point of Africa landmark, try your luck viewing the coast from the top of the lighthouse and see if you can spot any of her handywork.
