Eko otherwise known as Lagos. In the recent times,it has earned the name of Lasgidi. The city that doesn’t sleep. The place of the wise. If you can’t learn here in this city, alas you may never be able to learn anywhere. Eko o ni baje ooo!!!
Out of the 54 countries in Africa,Nigeria has the highest population at 220 million. Then talk of cities Lagos,is the most populated. It has 22 million people living working and getting around. As a result getting around is quite difficult. Aside the traffic jam,the high cost of transportation etc. As we often say, time is money. Therefore I opted to get to Ikoyi by boat !!! It takes about 3hrs from Ikorodu to Ikoyi by road. It’s 45 minutes by boat,so I have often taken that option to travel by boat to Ikoyi and Lagos Island in general. I have always had safe rides even till now. There are several classes of people on board the boat. Market and buisness women, working class men. Others going on weekend trio etc. I was going for a weekend trip.
Although the journey was bumpy and the boat ride abit rough. That’s wasn’t what I liked about this. I really like the view of Lagos city. It was breath taking to see the sky scrappers and high rising offices. The banks, the ancient CMS church building etc. I just loved looking at these as the boat sped past on the Lagoon. This time I decided I’ll share this on connect.
There were other little fishing boats around too and of course other big boats too. It’s quite easy travelling by Boat really. It’s stress free and easy. It saves time and also relaxing. I always like the jetty when you arrive. It’s hustling and busy. People going and coming like an airport. It’s quite booming and an interesting place to be. I looked around abit and took some shots before continuing on my travel.
There are also people from neighbouring countries travel to Lagos by boat for buying and selling. If you ever come to Lagos, please make sure you try it out. You will enjoy this boat ride. I enjoyed it anyway.
Happy guiding
Cheers
