Traveling with the smell and taste of coffee :)

For those who know me, it’s obvious I can’t travel without experience a cup of coffee here and there!

Visiting new places is the best adventure for me, but I couldn’t resist trying new dishes, drinks, fruits, etc., especially if they are not available in my country, Poland. I’m pretty sure most of you agree with me, that’s the best way to explore a new place - meet people, visit their hidden gems and eat or drink the way they do!

In this post, I would like to share with you my way of getting to know new cities. I just love coffee…My favorite is cappuccino  Almost everywhere I go I order it. Depends on the country, cafe, barista and the atmosphere I can say that the taste varies a lot! I like to experiment with coffees- trying new ingredients like syrups, whipped cream, cinnamon, different kinds of milk, brown sugar, etc.

My way of visiting cities is to grab a coffee “to go” and walk down the streets, especially in the morning it’s the best time to do it and at the same time to wake me up :slightly_smiling_face: I have got a lot of memories with coffee taste and scenes from an exact city. Each sip gives me a lot of pleasure, at the same time my eyes are admiring the beauty of a new territory. After a few hours of sightseeing, I prefer to sit in a cozy cafe, order my second cup of coffee, this time with a delicious dessert and enjoy “people watching” behind the glass window.

My “number 1” is a cappuccino with few drops of cinnamon syrup and I enjoy “latte art”* if barista can prepare my drink in a special way! :yum:

What is your favorite type of coffee? Do you admire latte art* as I do? I would love to read about it in comments  Feel free to share photos of tasty coffee with us! I’m sure my friend @Giuseppe75 has got some great photos of delicious cappuccino with awesome latte art patterns :slightly_smiling_face:

*Latte art- it’s about creating a pattern or text on the surface of the coffee drink, using espresso and milk foam.

Thank you for sharing @AniaKiser ! I don’t drink too much coffee but I was with my mother in Zurich (Switzerland) two weeks ago on Milch Bar and she took one coffee. It was a heart on the coffee and I find it lovely !

Hi @AniaKiser

Love this post. I’m also a huge coffee lover and whenever I’m traveling I’m always trying out different coffees. I like the Starbucks cup. I’d like to share a photo from my summer when I was traveling around the South of France, I took this photo in Saint-Tropez. This is from their most famous coffee brand La Tarte Tropezienne.

If you haven’t tried this in France, I highly recommend it. They have amazing pastries as well and their most famous pastry Tarte Tropezienne, which was named by the famous Brigitte Bardot.

@Velvel Thank you for your photo. I haven’t tried Vietnamese coffee yet. What is special about it? Taste? Ingredients? or maybe the way of preparing it?

@LuigiZ Yes, espresso is so popular in Italy, but not that much in Poland. I think Polish people prefer "americano " or “flat white” :slightly_smiling_face:

Vietnamese coffee is special with its strong coffee taste and thicker brew @AniaKiser

As part of the Robusta coffee, no wonder that this kind of “strong” coffee could make us stay awake longer.

I sometimes make it from my Vietnamese instant coffee powder. I love the serving in hot without the adding of sugar, creamer, and milk.

Do you like the coffee without sugar and milk?

@Velvel I prefer coffee with milk and sugar :slightly_smiling_face: I’ve tried once Turkish coffee, but it was far too strong for me. I suppose it can he similar to Vietnamese one.

Hi @AniaKiser …thank you for sharing. I love drinking coffee too. I drink coffee twice a day and my fav type of coffee are Cafe Latte and Americano/Long Black. And of course I admire Latte Art. Sometimes I ask the barista to make a special latte art for me cause I’m bored to see the standard Latte Art made by some baristas…hahaha
