Traveling like a Local - Italy - Where to stay - B&B

If you are planning a trip in Italy, one of the options to keep in mind is “where to stay”.

If your plan is to visit one big city, like Roma and Milano, of course you will probably search for an hotel near to the center of the city but, for all the rest of Italy, there is a solution, frequently unespected

Have you thought about to stay in a B&B, or in a Farmhouse? If you are travelling in Italy, try to find a place out of the city where that you want to visit, let say at less than 20-30 minutes by public transport. You will probably find a lot of B&B, at an affordable price. Most of the B&B and the farmhouses are in fact beautiful villas, with swimming pool, nice gardens, good food. A luxury experience at the price of a cheap hotel.

Let me share some photos, to give you an idea of what I’m talking about

Two B&B at less than 15 Km to Florence

I spent most of the time inside the B&B, sunbathing and relaxing. Can you believe it?

Two B&B in wich I’ve been this year, for the meet-ups in Marche region

In addition, the Farmhouses normally also have a restaurant, where they provvide the dinner with products from the farm

An amazing experience of good food in wonderful places

Of course, all this places have a limited number of rooms, so a reservation have to be made in advance

@ErmesT , you must either create a public Google Maps list of all your wonderful recommendations or share with us your Local Guides review links of each of these wonderful places.

Your photos remind me of the great movie A Room with a View and all that wonderful green, lush Italian countryside and the pensione. I can hear the loud cicadas or crickets in the warm summer nights now . . . (nice memories - thanks!)

Cheers,

Karen
