My favourite thing to share is natural places, biosphere reserves, national parks and wildlife refuges, taking pictures of landscapes, animals, rare plants.
I like to give people some advice about the places I’ve been, like, what to wear, what you need to take to that place, what is the normal weather, some curious things about it, what to expect, what is allowed todo and what is forbidden.
I had the opportunity to be in Costa Rica for five monts studying in UCR, and i knew a lot of natural places, I have two favourite places:
1. Corcovado National Park
It’s a magical place, surrounded with jungle and near to the beach where there’s no harbor, so you have to take a two hours boat trip to get there. There’s something that looks like a cabin were you can stay, but have no walls, just some white fabric that protect you form the mosquitos,so the sunlighs wake up ypu every morning, and also the howler monkeys. The place have poor movil signal but it has electricity, so your phone can be charged to take a lot of pictures.
Corcovado owns a dinning room and you can get your food in there, wich is delicious, by the way, after that you can prepare yourself for the hike of your life, because the landscapes are just unvelibable, and you will see a lot of wildlife, fungus and weird plants.
Get ready with a lot of patience too, because is a really warm place, with the sunlight, maybe 40° C and a lot of humidity, but really, everything wort it, yoy can see sloths, opossums, spider monkeys, howler monkeys, titi monkeys, tucans, tapirs, anteaters, beautiful bats, with some lucky a felin, yes!!! a felin!, and don’t worry about your safety, you will always have a guide who knows how to give you the best tour!
2. Ostional Wildlife Refuge
At first sight it may look like a common beach, but… look closer, in the middle of the sand, a bit away from the sea… there is a sea turtule!!! yes! do not interrupt them, they are making a nest to put some eggs in there, but you can whatch the show and wonder about the beauty and perfection of nature! a few hours later you will see one of the mos beautiful sunsets ever.
Walking on the beach in the night,if you’re lucky and catch an “arrival”, which means there will be hundreds of tutles walking out of the beach to dig some nests for they’re eggs.
If you stand my the beach looking for a while the waves, and also there’s no moonlight, yoy can see a lighting blue crossing the waves, its bioluminiscent plancton, please enjoy it, personally, that is one of the most beautifutl things I’ve ever seen, and much bette… both phenomenon together.
Just be carefull with the mosquitos and do not touch the tortule, just watch!
