Hello
My name is Lenin, living in UAE for more than 20 years, i would like to share some experience to make your travel affordable. Make sure you pre book your hotel, activities & tourist attractions for reasonable price. Sunday to Thursday are weekdays, Friday & Saturdays are weekends, Mostly shopping malls and food courts are open from 8 am to 12 midnight. Weekends is totally different.
Trip to UAE - how to travel in low budget.
United Arab Emirates has 7 Emirates, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Ajman & Umm Al Quwain.
Visa & Flight
You can avail visit visa from your home country by providing required documents, because it differs from country to country, for example, European, Canadian, US can enter UAE and obtain a visa on arrival, once you get the visa, you can land in any 7 Emirates, so you have plenty of options for flights, expensive flights and also budget flights, flights ticket will be cheaper if you book ahead, so plan accordingly (for short stay and long stay visa please check UAE websites for updated information), You should also be aware of what to bring and what not to bring to the UAE, check the UAE customs website for more information.
Transport
If you land in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, once you finish all the formalities in the arrival area, you can buy a sim card in arrival and get connected to free (high speed) WiFi and search for public transport to reach the hotel.
Hotel or Hotel apartments
Hotels are expensive in peak season, you can have luxurious stay, but you end up paying more, Hotel apartments comes with Micro oven, kitchen utensils and washing machine, I prefer you to book Hotel apartments if you are with family or even couple, mostly all the hotel apartments comes with swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna & morning breakfast too with free WiFi, they too have some tourist packages with reasonable price or pre book the ticket, get a local bus, (metro only in Dubai) and explore yourself, for roaming in Abu Dhabi Municipality bus get a card from kiosk available, and for Dubai you can use NOL (available in metro stations and pubic kiosk) card Dubai Bus, Metro, Water Transport, you do have Bus from Abu Dhabi to Dubai $7 (2hrs) with free WiFi
Holy month - Ramadan
Hotels and other activities will be cheaper during Ramadan, yes Holy Month of Ramadan (fasting month, should not eat or drink in public) but malls covered food courts are available, hotels too provide their foods, but the restaurants in the cities are closed, take away available depends on outlets.
Weather
Summer is very hot and humid (July & August are extreme) November to March are best time to visit.
Country of Tolerance
You do have churches, temples in UAE, mixed of different nationalities, which feels proud to stay in UAE. You feel very safe in UAE (off course we should use our common sense too)
I just gave a basic information what i learnt, you can have more by surfing google and google maps. Please let me know if anything required more.
