Travel to South India

India is wonderful. I with my family visited some popular destinations in south India. I found India a very rich country for many things. Friendly people, low cost travel, good food, religious shrines, scenic beauty, good transportation facilities and much more.

I realized that India is rapidly growing. The infrastructure and technology is well managed. As we were focused on religious tour we visited many temples of south India. Rameshwaram a high value mythological place was amazing. There is a myth that during ancient period of Ramayana, King Rama had made a bridge over the sea between India and Sri Lanka with floating stones. The bridge called Ramasetu can be seen in satellite images now a days as well.

Kanyakumari, the southern-most point of India, where three seas meet was fantastic. Vivekananda Rock Memorial is situated on a big rock near Kanyakumari where all tourists who visit Kanyakumari use to go.

One can plan for a package trip to south India for at least seven days to get the glimpse of some major places like Bengaluru, Chennai, Madurai, Kanyakumari, Tirupati, Kerala beaches etc.

Thank you @Pradyumna7 about the information and the photos.

I am planning to visit India next year yet I still haven’t decided where I will go. However, I am planning to visit Taj Mahal and the stepwells in Rajasthan which I have read an article about and totally fell in love with.

What time of the year is best for traveling to and going around India? Do you usually have a tough winter?

To visit Taj Mahal, Agra you should escape the summer months like June, July and August. You can go there is winter as well. For Rajasthan, summer season will not be favorable as temperature goes up. You can visit during September to February. Thank you!
