Our trip started on the 2nd of November when we flought to Israel by Wizzair, and we drove to Jerusalem by our rental car right after we landed. We used Google Maps to navigate, but the hebrew alphabet causedusso me hard time, since we couldn’t understand the signs, and the map sometimes, so we came up with the idea touse the main attractions as a referencepoint.
To arrive and drive in Israel on Friday wasn’t ideal. Another thing that caused some hard time was the parking, sincet o pay for it only possibleby an application, which can only be used with a local number. Luckily, parking is free from 4pm on Friday to Sunday morning, so we had some time to found the solution.
Our first trip lead us to the Western Wall, where we found our selves in the Shabbat mass of people, but it was absolutely not annoying. After that we took a bigwalk in then arrow streets of the Old City to catch the vibes of the city.
We booked our room vie Airbnb, which was a cozyroom at a Nepalese family’s flat. They were very helpful and told us where can we found drinking water during sightseeing, and provide us other very use ful informations. We soent the next day walking in the Old City. One the highlitghts of the day was King David’sfortress, where an exhibtion about the History Of Israel can be found, and also the view is amazing and absolutely recommended from the tower.
The Arabic quaerter of the Old City is recommended for the cheap restaurants and great athmosphere.
Not far away from the Damascus Gate there is a place called The Tomb Garden which possibly can be be theTomb where Jesus was buried, the garden is magical and recommended several species of plants from the Bible can be found here.
In the evening we went back to the Tower Of David to watch the Light Show, which was a fantastic idea. The most important parts from David’s life was projected on the wall swhich made the whole story much more realistic, we almost felt part of the story. So, this almost one hour long show absolutely worth edit.
The next day, on Sunday we visited the Ein Gedi part of the Dead Sea, where King David was hiding when King Saul wasch a sing him. There is a very steep rocky stair way down to the waterfall which is a hard hike but the 35 Degree Celsius, and the hot sun made it much harder but in the end when you arrive to the waterfall, and feel the cold breeze of it and see the view you won’t bobo ther any more with the secircumstances.
Then when we came back to Jerusalem we made a 90 minutes trip in the tunnel next to the Western Wall,where you can be the most nearest to the Old Temple Of Solomon, which was an experience for a lifetime.
On Monday morning we parked our car next to the Damascus gate where is it possible pay by cash. Then we swithed to taxi, and went up to the Mount Of Olives, which has the best view to the OldCity Of Jerusalem.Then we took a walk ont he steep hill side down to the Geshemane Garden, where Jesus spen this last supper. This garden has an amazing vibe withit’s old a hous and years old olivetrees.
Then we kept walkon in a valley which lead us to the Pool of Siloam, where Absolon and Zechariah’s tomb can be found, and it was an interesting experince sincet we explained a lake reading the Bible, but Pool of Siloam called Pool with a reason sinceit is almost a little bit bigger then a normal family pool.
The we had to take another steep hike up to the Old City where after some bargaining we bought the souvenirs for the family. On the next day we went back to the airport and came back home…
