I am a true believer that things made with passion and love deserve to be known, and I consider one picture can transmit it. Some years before now I used to take pictures of everything in my life: the food I used to eat, meetings with my friends and the new places I visited, but always keeping it for my self, until one day.
Someday I realize could transmit passion and love in 2 ways:
- Connecting people. When I share a picture I like to think that I am helping producers (chefs, bakers, ice creamers, artists, etc) to transmit their passion and love for what they do trough one picture, with people whos looking for their job(a good slide of breath, an exotic hand- made ice cream, a contemporary art sculpture) and a link is created between them.
I applied it in a cold morning of February when I met with my uncles for breakfast in Pure Bread, Vancouver, so I decided to take a picture of my tea and my slice of banana cake, just to send it to my sister, but I thought “well would be funny to upload it to my Instagram profile”. Suddenly my friends start reacting to my story and asking me for the place what I was. Somedays after some of these friends decided to visit the place just for trying the flavor.
- Things that can not be bought. I know landscapes, sunsets, a bird flying, and some other natural scenes cannot be made (or at least most of them cannot) but love and passion are still there, What do I mean? behind a beautiful landscape are people who take care of it, people giving donatives to preserve it. In this special case is about to share the way you see the word, about to share a perspective, a different face of a touristic place or discover a new one.
Of this last one is what I like best because you could share with others a different perspective from a known city, or share an unrepeatable moment, and give you the possibility to be in a different part of the word without the need to move, and that´s what happened on my last trip, my grandma is not able to travel long distances anymore, and she had never seen snow or a waterfall, so I took lots of pics to send her an offer her the possibility to travel while she was sitting on her coach.
An here is where I see the main importance to share pictures with people around the world, for communicating more than words can, and if we´re lucky we´ll create a network able to link people and let passion and love grow.
