I have created a Google account [REDACTED] that I would like to make my main Local Guides account.
Is there a way to move points between Google accounts? I don’t think there is but I thought I would make sure by posting this question.
Assuming there is no way to move my work from peterburbery1, my personal gmail to my Google Workspace email [REDACTED] are there other approaches I could take such as reposting the photos or sharing and sending data?
Hello, @PeterCBurbery . Thanks for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, it’s impossible to transfer your points and contributions from one account to another, and it’s also prohibited to keep more than one account. If you want to create a new Local Guides account and start from the beginning, you should close your current Local Guides account first. Please check Local Guides Program Terms and Conditions: for more information.
Should I close my personal work account that I am a super admin on [REDACTED] Local Guide which has only a few contributions and reviews compared to my main Local Guide account peterburbery1 , my personal email I have used since the middle of 2017?
There are some benefits to my personal work account including features that are only available on Google Workspace Plus addition, such as the ability to record Google Meet sessions and an admin console.
I am the only person in my Google Workspace account so I won’t have to worry about leaving the company, based on this post Changing your email address
The main thing I wanted to have when I created my first Google account peterburbery1 was a unique email with no numbers, which peterburbery1 does not have because someone else has the email peterburbery (presumably with my name, but maybe a different middle name).
When I realized I could purchase a Google workspace account and I would not have to worry about the email peterburbery, I decided although it would be hard it would be a good idea to use my full name instead of being number tagged which I think is less personal than my name.
To recap, on one hand I have more time, reviews, local guide community posts, points, photos, and data with my peterburbery1 Local Guides account (and more broadly other Google services), and on the other hand I can use my own name and not a number and special Workspace features I manage as a super admin with [REDACTED]
I do think its good to have only one Google account and if you create multiple Google accounts (which I have done) to delete and merge the data as soon as possible with only one account.
Is there a way to find all my text reviews on desktop in Chrome?–“First, you need to copy-paste all your review texts into a text document.” from Do you need to change your email address?
If not, I would like to propose a download reviews as .txt file data download feature.
As explained already, there is no way to Transfer the contributions in Maps from an account to another.
This is clearly explained in the Local Guides Program Terms and Conditions : “Contributions to Google Maps must originate from a single Google account to count towards benefits and cannot be transferred between owned accounts”
It means that:
Only a single account can join the Local Guides program. In this moment you are participating with two accounts. It means that both accounts can be banned for violation of the rules. Please leave the program with one of your accounts.
Reviewing with two accounts to the same business is an alteration of the rating of the business. It means that, before to add a review with the new account, you should remove the one written with the other account.
Adding the same photo with two account is not permit. You should remove the photos from the old profile before to add them with the new account.
I know, it is complicated, but unfortunately there is no other way. As you already know I suggest an automated procedure to do this, but it has not been approved yet.
Please, leave the program with an account now, to avoid future issues
When you want to suggest improvements to the Local Guides Program or Google Maps you should use the Idea Exchange rather than mentioning such ideas in an ongoing discussion.
There is a good reason to not use a gsuite account @PeterCBurbery when that organisation closes all your content will be lost. So if you ever stopped paying for the account it would be gone.
Thank you for reaching out. As other Local Guides already explained in the comments above, unfortunately, your existing contributions cannot be transferred to another account.
