Trail edit gets rejected but has been around for six years!

Good evening. I’m Robert; author of the Two Wheeled Politics bike blog based in Toronto. I recently did a bike ride from Barrie to Brampton, but Google Maps doesn’t show a biking trail which starts at 44.157209, -79.742078 and ends at 44.114553, -79.792279 (10th Side Road south of 11th Line in New Tecumseth, ON). Here’s a screenshot of the edit I submitted on Tuesday, July 1.

Unfortunately, Google Maps rejected this edit, but Strava shows this trail per the ride I recorded on that platform. To make matters worse, that trail has been around for at least six years per this blog post a fellow bike blogger shared with me after I shared my experiences.

Please let me know what can be done to escalate this matter. Especially considering how old this trail is without the map being modified to account for it. At least two other Toronto area cyclists can vouch for this trail per this strava recording and this blog post, while the Town of New Tecumseth also shows this on their official Trans Canada Trail map.

Thanks,
Robert
