Traditional Dancers of Sri Lanka

The Sri Lankan traditional dancers are part of the entertainment at the Cinnamon Grand, Colombo. I highly recommend this hotel, attached to a shopping mall and only walking distance to the Gale Face - mention in a previous post -

https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/General-Discussion/When-in-Sri-Lanka-you-must-visit-Galle-Face/td-p/2050685.

The dancing tells the stories of living off the land or warding off any evil spirits with fire.

Generally known as Kandyan dance, but there are other names given. I am not 100%, hopefully, anyone with this knowledge could reply.

Hello @EwanArnolda ,

Thank you for showing us these spectacular photos! It’s great that they still preserve this unique style of dancing. Did you also add your review and photos of the hotel on Google Maps? They would be really useful for the tourists who are visiting Sri Lanka for the first time.

Please note that I have moved your post to the Local Stories section as it’s related to a local tradition. You can find more information about the different sections of Connect in the article What are the Connect topics?.
