Tourism in Cartagena, Colombia, affected by COVID 19.

In the north of Colombia is the city of Cartagena, with many stories to tell, many kilometers of beach, beautiful monuments and museums, parks, sculptures.
But more than that, there is the warmth of the people of Cartagena, the desire to see all who visit it satisfied and happy.
Today, the situation of the pandemic has distanced tourists, its streets look desolate, lacking the laughter and voices of visitors.
My wish, as a native of this beautiful city, is that this pandemic be overcome so that everyone returns here … I wait for all the local guides in Cartagena, and for anyone who wants to come after the pandemic!

Beautiful image Robert! I wish I could get photos of this in some of my local areas - unfortunately there are still too many people out

I enjoyed your post and photo aboutCartagena, a place I visited just a couple of years ago @Robert24 . I enjoyed walking through the streets, and seeing the old and the new, many street art like in the Plaza de San Pedro Claver, and I also enjoyed many attractions including the Museo de Art Moderno de Cartagena and the Artesanias India Catalina Galeria de Arte, as well as Baluarte La Merced, the walls around the historic center of Cartagena…oh I could easily go on.

Thank you for sharing your photo with us @Robert24 ,

Can you tell us more about interesting places in Cartagena? Which is your favorite museum? Is there a must-visit place?

By the way, I relabeled your post to Travel, where you can find information about exciting places, receive travel recommendations, get advice on taking solo trips, and more.

@ShakilAK the photo predates the pandemic … today it looks desolate … there are generally many tourists …

@VasT there are many places for all tastes: a walk through the swamp of the Virgin visiting the mangroves that form figures like tunnels, seeing birds and shellfish, a tour of the botanical garden observing many animal and plant species, visiting the “Espiritu del manglar” park and watch the sunset, climb the walls and watch the sunset over the sea (much desired by tourists).
There are museums for every taste, I really like the Naval Museum of the Caribbean because of the history that tells of the era of pirates and construction of the walls and forts and the new museum “La presentacion” that offers the possibility of playing a piano of queue and enjoy pictorial works.
Almost all the museums are in the historic center except the Casa Rafael Nuñez Museum.
The must visit is the Fort San Felipe de Barajas, tour its tunnels that allowed the military of that time to sneak away and observe the city from the top … there is also the hill of La Popa, the Rosario islands, the aquarium , the Juan de Angola pipe, a stroll through the Bay of Cartagena, the beaches, the discotheques, the parks, the squares, the film festival, the classical music festival, “Hay festival” (of literature) … there is much more … we wait for you!

Thank you for your long and detailed reply @Robert24 . Cartagena appears like a marvelous city to visit with many things to do. A tip for next time: you can add the Google Maps links of these places so if someone is interested in them, and can have a look at them. As I did in the beginning.

Do you mean to put the link in a word @Robert24 ?

First, select a word, for example, Colombia and then press the button above the textbox which looks like a link, as you can see in the screenshot:

Then insert the link you want to:

And you’re good to go!
