Redang Island is an island in Kuala Nerus District, Terengganu, Malaysia. It is one of the largest islands off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It is famous for its crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches.
We started our Journey to Redang Island from Kuala Lumpur at 12 am, we reached Kuala Terengganu early morning. We pray Fazar at The Abidin Mosque. The Abidin Mosque is Terengganu’s old state royal mosque built by Sultan Zainal Abidin II between 1793 and 1808. The mosque, which is also known as the White Mosque or the Big Mosque, is located in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia.
After praying and breakfast we went to Terminal Penumpang Kuala Terengganu and reached at 8 am, our ferry was at 9 am. The Terminal was well organized and clean.
We went there for three days with some of the Malaysian friends. We really enjoyed the journey by doing lots of activities such as snorkeling, beach football, BBQ night and many more. If you really wanna see the beauty of Malaysia you should visit Readang Island. Its safe, clean and beautiful.
Thank you for sharing! I really enjoyed reading your post. Looks like your trip was quite an experience. Is Redang island a famous tourist attraction to be visited in Malaysia or it is more like a hidden gem which still many people don’t know.
I am curious to learn more about your travel there and am sure other Local Guides are curious too and will be happy to learn more about such places.
Thanks for your interest to know more about my trip to Redang Island.
That place is really a great place for tourist, Redang is a well-known tourist place for local but lots of tourists those who come to visit Malaysia they don’t know about the beautiful place they only visit the nearby place to Kuala Lumpur. Also, some tourist doesn’t want to visit because they think that Redang is far from Town and it’s not safe to visit. But I ensure them that Redang is totally safe to visit with friends and family. There have some beautiful resorts with affordable price. One more important thing you have to very careful about ferry time because only two ferry per day and there is no other option to come back to Terengganu city. If you know English you can communicate with the service provider because they know English. It was one of my best tour in Malaysia.
@Sakhawat I am really happy that you had a great time there. I appreciate you shared all those details about this place. One don’t want to miss the ferry so should check all the details on time. This place looks amazing and I am sure is a promising destination to go off the beaten track.
