Tour Diaries - Jayanti Mata Temple

Hello Everyone. Today I am very excited to share you all my one of the most favourite and adventurous trekking tour. This tour was so special. We fully enjoyed this tour. This place is situated in deep forest of Vindhya Range near to the border of Dewas and Khandwa Districts in Madhya Pradesh. Yes I am talking about Jayanti Mata temple near Narmadanagar District Khandwa.

Let’s start with our Journey. This trek was organised by our local tour organiser Hemant Joshi.

We have departed from our place in the early morning and we reached Udainagar where we take a small break for 10 minutes but in those 10 minutes we all started dancing on Dhol. We have enjoyed dancing and entertained the peoples of Udainagar.

After Dancing we again departed from Udainagar and finally reached the Bawadikheda village of Dewas District. After Bawadikheda there is no motorable road. We have to start walking in the forests. Jayanti Mata Temple is 7.5 kms away from Bawadikheda. The Jungle trekking was of too much fun. It was monsoon season and the trees were fully green.

In the images you can image that how we were feeling during the trek.

After walking 2 hrs we reached to Khadi River bank.

Khadi River is a tributary of Maa Narmada which borders Dewas and Khandwa Districts. There is a small pedestrian bridge on Khadi River but at the time of Monsoon the Bridge was removed by the locals for proper flow of river.

To cross the river we have decided to throw a rope another side of the river and to cross the river by getting support with rope. In this way we crossed the river.

After crossing the river the temple was just 250 metres away but now there was elevation in our path. After walking some more distance finally we reached Jayanti Mata Temple but before worshipping in the temple first We reached at Waterfall which is 150 metres away from the temple. We all full enjoyed in the waterfall. It is a great place for refreshing yourself.

Below the waterfall there is Bhairav Cave. We also worshipped Bhairav Baba inside the cave.

After Bathing we reached at Jayanti Mata Temple and Worshipped Goddess.

After worshipped we again started walking from the same route. Again we crossed the river with the help of rope. And after walking inside the Jungle finally we reached at Bawadikheda village in the evening before sunset. After departing from Bawadikheda we did our dinner on a small Dhaba near Udainagar and finally at midnight 12 we reached our home.

It was great experience for me. This trek was organised after some months of covid due to which many of us faced sone problems in walking but on reaching the temple and waterfall all problems was vanished.

How to reach -

Jayanti Mata Temple is situated in Deep Forests of Vindhya Range. There are two ways to reach the temple. First is trekking route on which we can’t go with our vehicle and second is vehicle route which is connected from Punasa Kannod Highway.

Jayanti Mata temple near Narmadanagar…

Well written post, my dear friend @LovePathak28 .

Your photographs are impressive and also explainative.

Yes, as our @SachinVijayan mentioned, it is surely helpful for the readers, if you provide Google Maps LINK of the temple.

The bathing in the Waterfall feels really refreshing and crossing the river using the rope … Is that risky?

Is any food available enroute?

How many of you were together?

Thanks for sharing this useful post…

Hello @SachinVijayan . Yes here is the link for the place

https://maps.app.goo.gl/uJ7uH7ubFJ7tKHcr

But I personally suggest if you visit there then try to ask locals for the address because the route showing on maps may differ. As I travelled through trekking route which is not showing on maps. And this motorable route is showing since last somedays only.

Hello @TravellerG . Yes it was risky to cross the river with rope but that’s the real feeling of trekking.

We were 60 peoples together. You asked a good question that any food available enroute or not. My answer is no. When the forest region get started you will get nothing. I prefer you should bring your own food and water bottle together. At temple you will get a small tapri for prasadam and for small items like biscuits.
