Have you ever felt like you’ve travel so far, yet you did not move one bit? Like you’ve immerse yourself in the wonders of the world, seeing something very bizarre, but unique?
Traveling and seeing the world is now something possible without having to leave home. Maps lets you see the world through the eyes of million other persons.
The world is you
You might be small, you might be tall, you might be big, you might be slim, you might be old, you might be young. You know it, all of what makes us unique allows us to see our environnement differently. Let it be for the perspective, choice of place or even access to points of interest; a bit of what we are maps the world wide web.
What does the Local Guides program mean to a cat? Not much, until they develop opposable thumbs (and I will be very interested to see the world through a cat!). But, joke aside, I find the Local Guide program to be an amazing rewarding program. How, you might ask? By sharing with others what we find and being able to see the impact that we have on others.
I am always amazed to see some of my photos having more view than other and at some point, I wonder why certain clichés worked better. I love knowing that my reviews helped others get an a great experience at a restaurant or outdoors. My saying is that sharing is caring. I care about building a collective database of our experiences, let it be our mark of this brief passage on earth.
When I travel with my friends, I open maps from time to time to check the reviews of places I wish to go or to see if the current place I am visiting has any information (photos, reviews, etc.) What joy when I can add something exclusive, a new wonder! I take my camera like an archaeologist and I enter the tomb, trying to posts some photographs of a new found relic.
