ধানমন্ডিকে ঢাকা শহরের দক্ষিণাঞ্চলের প্রাণকেন্দ্র বলা যায়। ধানমন্ডি এলাকা ব্যবসায়ীদের জন্য যেমন উপযোগী, তেমনি বসবাসের জন্যও উপযোগী একটি এলাকা।
এখানে সকল ধরনের/লেভেলের লোকের বসবাস। রাস্তা গুলোও অনেক পরিচ্ছন্ন। প্রচুর গাছপালা থাকায় শহরের অন্যান্ন অংশের চাইতেও পরিবেশটা সুসাস্হের জন্য বেশ উপযোগী।
